The Simple Things

Holy, WOW. I haven’t written a blog post in a LONG TIME. It’s not that I’ve been feeling uninspired lately, it’s just that I have been getting back into some kind of new normal, seeing friends from a distance, going out and even somewhat getting back into work, that writing has taken the back seat. I have been learning to live with the new realities of the world. Honestly, it feels pretty good. I have felt more normal in the last month than I have since March when coronavirus hit hard.

Is anyone else completely shocked that it’s AUGUST? Where has this year gone? In my head it should only be maybe the beginning of May! I can’t believe that this year as unpredictable as it’s been has been is 5 months from being over. I can’t believe that the idea of uncertainty has become normal for all of us, that there is still really no light at the end of the tunnel yet, but for some reason I think that there is something peaceful about that?

I think for one, I’ve begun to really appreciate the simple things, a walk with a friend, dinner in the backyard with really good wood oven pizza’s, and sitting by the lake on a bench, watching the sun sink into the earth. I think that as much as we are all saying 2020 should be cancelled, It’s already shaped up to being one of my favourite years yet.

So here’s to me getting back on the writing grind, and here’s to all of us wandering in the unknown together.

What is something simple you’ve been really enjoying this year?

  3. Xandria, I missed you!! ❀ I'm glad to see you are embracing the new normal, and I agree. Despite the awfulness of being in a global pandemic I'm finding so much more joy in the simple things. I love doing yoga every morning, I love sitting outside and feeling the sun on my face, I love laughing with my friends (even though they are six feet away, lol). The simple things are really what life is about, and there is so much happiness to be found if we just look for it!! Sending good vibes your way for August πŸ˜€

  4. I think 2020 has truly taught us that anything could happen, so we might as well appreciate every little moment and not stress over anything, because nothings worth stressing over at the end of the day. It’s definitely taught us to appreciate the ‘small’ things for sure, and I am so happy you’re having such a fab year.

Sending lots of love and light beautiful!

  5. I can’t believe how fast this year has gone by! I’ve been enjoying taking walks everyday and having more quiet time. I love exercising and working on my blog. Before COVID I didn’t get a chance to do that

  7. Oh my god, yes, for a year in which we haven’t done much apart from stay at home, time has gone by abnormally fast! At this point, I’m so comfortable with the sweet, little things that come with the pandemic life that I’m not even sure I can go back to a normal-functioning routine, hahaha!

  8. I was also surprised August was here. I’m glad because this means summer is coming on this side of the world. Finally πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚. I miss wearing shorts and not constantly walking around with a blanket cause it’s cold.
