I just came back from a whirlwind four day vacation to Vancouver, British Columbia. I knew when booking this trip that I would be going at a very transitional time in my life. I knew that I needed to get on a plane and escape away for a couple days, to realign, re focus and get in a better state of mind before diving into a new career path.
Now, Vancouver has easily become one of the most beautiful places that I have traveled to – but I am biased towards places that are green and gloomy and have always found a special charm about them. Vancouver air was cleaner, the beach was a 10 min drive away, I was surrounded by mountains and ocean, not to mention, the sea food was the best I’ve ever had. It was the perfect recipe for an amazing weekend getaway.
I saw the biggest trees I have ever seen in my life, I met people who were so kind, so happy and just at peace. It was this trip that made me realize that there is nothing more in this world that I want more than to explore foreign cities, to breath deeply and savour a memory when I’m in a moment I never want to forget. I want to write about it, to take these places and create stories.
So above all else, I hope you go. I hope that you take that weekend trip that you’ve been wanting to take all summer long. I hope you take some time to get away to ground yourself. I hope that you go, travel. Go, explore. Go, out of your comfort zone. Just go. Because I can assure you there’s nothing greater than exploring this beautiful world we live on.
