This year has been one of the fastest of my life, I cannot believe we are already in August.

I’ll be completely honest here, I SUCK at monthly favourites. I have tried countless times to do more planned content on my blog, but it always slaps me in the face. I want this to be a space that I use when I feel inspired and encouraged to write, no something that ever feels forced. That’s what ends up happening with the monthly favourites. SO that being said, I’m going to try doing a round up of all my current favourites for the season we are in. Living in Canada we are so lucky to get to experience all four seasons so why no use that to my advantage.

1. Olehenriksen Truth Serum

I love putting on make up everyday, I know I’m one of the rare ones who actually finds enjoyment out of the process. However, I do like to lighten up what I put on my face in the summer months. I normally can get away with moisturizer, sunscreen and little concealer in the summer time, and be pretty content – but one of my close friends started using the Truth Serum, and wouldn’t stop raving about it, and I knew I had to try it. I have never really had bad skin, and still don’t, but any dark areas I did have on my skin have disappeared since I started using this and cannot recommend this enough. I put it on every night right before I go to bed after completely washing my face. It is pretty pricy considering the size of the bottle, but totally worth it.

2. Golden Hour – Kacey Musgraves

HOLY HELL. How and WHY was I so late to this album. So many people have been raving to me about it, it did win Album of the Year at the Grammy’s this year and since then I’ve been saying I need to listen to it. I finally got around to it, and now I can’t stop listening to it. I for one never thought that I would love a country album this much…

Must listen to tracks? Golden Hour, Love is a Wild Thing, High Horse and Rainbow!

3. Girl Boss Books

If you missed my last post, check it out here. It’s all about my top 3 must read books for all my fellow girl bosses out there. I love reading, and I normally almost always have a book in my bag, for the last couple of months I’ve had these three rotating through my bag.

4. Cameras

Most people who know me know that I love taking pictures, I love photography and most of all I love the concept of having tangible pictures to look back on. Over the last year I’ve been taking pictures on my old film camera, and absolutely love the way they turn out, I’ve learned SO MUCH about film cameras. I’ve always wanted a polaroid camera, so when I saw that one of the ones I’ve had my eye on for a long time went on sale I knew I had to get it. I got the Fuji Film Instax Wide 300, for the sole purpose of the fact that my pictures would be wider! It’s amazing,  but it’s an expensive hobby.

5. Couch to 5K

I love this app for the sole purpose of it being that it got my sorry butt off the couch and got me wanting to run, and workout and take care of myself again.  I’ve been enjoying running a lot lately, and for someone who used to be incredibly active and went to being incredibly lazy this was the perfect app to slowly build my stamina back and make me feel like completing a 5k is something that I am capable of. If you’re looking for a “sign” a push to get up and move, THIS IS IT. Get up and MOVE. It’s so important.

6. Love Island

Okay. Before you start judging me, I just want to openly say I LOVE garbage TV. I love mindless, stupid, easy TV. I also LOVE watching people so naturally, when countless people started telling me that I would really enjoy the show, I decided I’d watch one, and instantly fell in love.

 7. Hoola Bronzer – Toasted

I have never really be into contouring my face, because I have never found a colour that I really love. I recently did a make up tutorial with a professional make up artist and she introduced me to this amazing product that I was so amazed actually worked on my skin tone. If you have darker toned skin I highly recommend testing this out !
