My 2018 Recap

Hello 2019 !!!!!!!

I really can’t believe another year has passed. It honestly feels like just yesterday that I started this blog and was writing about how 2017 kicked my butt in ways I never imaged it would. I wrote about how 2018 was going to be my year, how I was going to make my dreams into reality. 2018 was one of the busiest years of my life, and looking back became one of my favourite years of my life so far.

Here’s a little recap of some of my favourite and hardest moments of 2018, leave me a comment letting me know one memory that sticks out for you in 2018.

1. Went on a Skiing and Snowboarding Trip !

Early in 2018, I got the chance to go on a little winter weekend getaway to Tiny Ontario with some of my closest friends. It was a 3 day get away filled with lots of laughs, lots of food and a pretty aggressive game of charades. This trip was in celebration of one of my close friends birthday’s, and I think my favourite part of the trip was getting to visit the beach. I’ve never seen a winter beach before, and honestly it’s one of my all time favourite memories.

2. Showers, Babies and Brides…oh my

This year was a huge one for my family. Not only did I have a total of 3 weddings to attend this year, but we had baby showers, bridal showers, 90th birthdays, communions, baptisms, and engagements. Not only were we so blessed with so many beautiful celebrations this year, but I get the chance to look forward to so many more for next year.

3. I got my first full time big kid job !

This year I finally left Starbucks, and said yes to a huge opportunity working as a full time Events Coordinator. It was something that I had been hoping for, for a really long time and I’m so happy that it’s at the place it is.

4. I went to Europe.

For those of you that know me, you know full well that Europe fuels my soul. It’s one of my favourite places to visit in the world. There’s so much history and culture. I got the chance to visit Ireland, Amsterdam, Poland and visit my family in England this year. (Stay tuned for my Ireland Travel Diary)

5. I went to A LOT of concerts

Concerts, music festivals bars with live music are my favourite places to be. This year I knocked a lot of huge artists off my list. Here are some of my favourite concerts in no particular order: Niall Horan, Harry Styles, The Eagles, Taylor Swift and Fleetwood Mac.

6. I went to the Dominican Republic.

Every year we do a family vacation, in the past we’ve gone to Florida, and NYC – this time it was decided that we all needed a well deserved R&R so off to the Dominican Republic we went. One of my favourite parts of this trip was getting to explore the cities as oppose to just staying on the resort. It was extremely eye opening, and humbling to see more of the country and learn more about it’s history.

7. I got to work on the Casting Team of a network TV Show.

I can’t tell you too much about this one, as I signed my life away promising I wouldn’t…but it’s going to be airing soon and I can’t wait to write an entire post talking about it. It was one of the coolest experiences of my life.

8. I lost my best friend.

This year one of the biggest hardships that I went through was having to put my little baby girl Mischa down. She was my first dog, and she was only 8 years old. It was due to a lot of health complications and in the end there just was not enough that we could have done to keep her around longer than she was. There’s not a day that goes by that I don’t miss her terribly, or look for her every time I walk through the door.

9. I got my first Tattoo

Number 8 & 9 go hand in hand. I got a tattoo for my dog. I’ve attached a picture of it, let me know if you have any ideas what it is. I’m always so curious as to what people think it is.

10. I bought a car !!!!!!!!!

EEP ! This was my first big girl purchase E V E R. I knew I wanted to for so long and it was just a matter of what kind, and how much of an investment I wanted to make. No, my parents didn’t help me, and honestly it made it all the more worth it.

11. I went to NYC in December

One of the things on my bucket list for a while now has been “See NYC at Christmas.” It was the first trip that my 3 best friends and I went on that was just us girls, we got the chance to see Wicked, and they were sweet enough to surprise me at this beautiful roof top restaurant!
